A cheque for £250 from our Charity Fund was presented by our WM, WBro John McDowell to Colts Manager, Mark Pitman of Bovey Tracey Cricket Club at the Club Presentation Evening.
Mark has provided a few facts & figures for the 2021 Colt’s season:
“180 Colts registered (124 boys & 56 girls)
(in 2018 we had 72 Colts so you can see a rapid growth in numbers).
Without donations like yours we would really struggle to have facilities for such a large number. Thank you! 😊
Our Colts mainly play in the South Devon Youth Cricket League (SDYCL)
We entered 6 teams from U10 to U15 age groups.
We also enter teams in Devon Colts competitions
U11 Girls – who were crowned champions of The Lady Taverners U11 Girls Softball Tournament – they had a wonderful time!
U15 girls – 2nd in their group. (Most of the girls in this team also play for our Ladies team)
U19 Boys – 2nd in their group.
We held several Cricket Camps for the Colts over the season with 299 children attending.”
